You might see people following their traditions even in public where the younger touch feet of elders, women keep their head covered with their scarf, in the rural areas do not mix up with men and hide their face from their fathers-in-law or any elderly men in the village or try to remain in a group of women.
You may also want to know a little more about the area before you fly to India. Perhaps the following details would be able to clear all your doubts. Still if you have any you are welcome to ask us at your convenience, through telephone or email.
General FAQs
Where should I fly to when I travel with Shimla Walks?
We are located in Shimla, a hill station 375 kilometers to the north of Delhi, in the Himalayan foothills. Although Shimla has its own airport only flight operates a day and that is subject to weather conditions. The nearest big domestic airport is in Chandigarh, 1230 kilometers from Shimla. Also Chandigarh has a railway station that is very well connected to the rest of the country. Therefore, all our tours begin from Chandigarh and end there. You should fly to Indira Gandhi International Airport New Delhi and take a connecting flight from there to Chandigarh. You may also choose to take Shatabadi Express train from New Delhi Railway Station. It takes three and a half hours to take you to Chandigarh. Our representative shall be there with your name on the paging board Shimla Walks Welcome’s Mr. / Mrs / Ms. So and so…….
